Jason Bridges, a Swiss-American tenor residing in Geneva, Switzerland, has established himself as an internationally acclaimed opera singer. Born in Pennsylvania, he trained at the Eastman School of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Bridges launched his career at the Opéra National de Paris' Atelier Lyrique, winning the Prix AROP.

He has performed in major opera houses across Europe and the US, collaborating with renowned conductors. His diverse repertoire includes title roles in "Candide" and "Albert Herring," as well as lead roles in classic operas. Bridges has also premiered contemporary works, including André Tchaikowsky's "The Merchant of Venice" at the Bregenzer Festspiele.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Pennsylvania, Bridges laid the foundation for his illustrious career at the prestigious Eastman School of Music. Driven by his passion for opera, he furthered his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, honing his craft under some of the most respected names in vocal instruction. His mentors included Seth McCoy, Dale Moore, Peter Alexander Wilson, and the legendary Swedish tenor Nicolai Gedda.

Bridges' professional journey began at the Atelier Lyrique, the young artist program of the Opéra National de Paris. It was here that his exceptional talent first garnered significant attention. In just his second year with the program, Bridges was awarded the Prix AROP, a distinction recognizing him as the outstanding male voice among young artists.

Education and Early Recognition

Bridges has also left his mark on the world of contemporary opera. He created the role of Lorenzo in the world premiere of "The Merchant of Venice" by André Tchaikowsky at the prestigious Bregenzer Festspiele. Additionally, he originated the role of Cyrille in the world premiere of Philippe Boesmans' opera "Yvonne, Princess de Bourgogne," further cementing his reputation as a versatile and forward-thinking artist.

Following his auspicious start in Paris, Bridges quickly established himself as a sought-after tenor on the international opera circuit. His powerful yet nuanced performances have graced some of the most prestigious opera houses and concert halls across Europe and the United States.

Throughout his career, Bridges has had the privilege of working with a roster of world-class conductors, including Roberto Abbado, Seymon Bychkov, Sylvain Cambreling, James Conlon, Hartmut Haenchen, Thomas Hengelbrock, Alexander Lazarev, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, and Carlo Rizzi. These collaborations have showcased his versatility as a performer and contributed to his growth as an artist.
